I stumbled across the book "It Starts with Food" when doing some searches for connection between diet and pain (specifically from osteoarthritis).
I decided to check out the books on Amazon, and ordered both (also got Whole30 - the link is on the right)
I read the sample on my Kindle app and really like the writing style and already had a bit of an "ah ha" moment. I figure that's a pretty good start right?
So I will spend the next couple weeks reading both books and deciding if this might be worth the experiment. That's what it is - not a diet, not a program, not a plan, not a lifestyle...all those words have failed me in the past. This time, it's an experiment...
I want to give it my all and see how I feel. Pure and simple. Not see if it works, not see if I lose weight, not see if I can stick to it....see how I feel.
Am I sleeping better? Am I in less pain? Do I feel more engaged in my life and less moody and down? Do I have more energy, more zest for life?
Right now, that's all I care about, feeling better - in all those areas.
I want to post here at least weekly if not daily to get my thoughts out and document how I'm feeling. I think it's important to capture results in an experiment after all.
So I will check back in before "day 1" and set some goals and plans based on my findings from reading the books.
